UniServices and Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of ɫ see increasing engagement with Māori and the Māori economy as a responsibility and priority. We are working to deepen relationships to better understand and deliver on the impacts Māori are seeking.

The University hosts Māori research centres including the , , , the and .

UniServices aims to work with Māori in innovative ways. For example, University researchers wanted to ensure a start-up based on Māori land and resources in Ruatoria would create employment, knowledge and opportunities and maintain ahi kā oversight over the brand story. UniServices worked with stakeholders to create a unique structure to meet these goals.
